Where are we now?
We're on the brink of something big. We've done a lot of work, but the next steps are the toughest of all.
Because we're 'going live'. We're sending the baby we've been nurturing out into the world: a brand idea for Auckland.
Which means every knocker, cynic, rabble-rouser, heckler and malcontent will have a poke at us.
Well, you know what? That's just fine. Because however bitter and disaffected the commentary, we're proud of this place. And we're proud of the thinking, hard work and spirit that's gone into the job. But most of all we're proud of the results.
We've got a new grasp on how Auckland needs to shape itself on the world stage. One that works for this conundrum of a city come region; this place of contrasts and contradictions.
